The Abreu de Lacerda family is a success case of family-led small farming and it’s importance in the specialty coffee scene in Brasil.

Together they made the brand Forquilha do Rio the exact definition of impressive coffees and have been awarded both in Brasil and abroad. Check their Instagram and see by yourself!

Sitio Forquilha do Rio is located in the township of Pedra Menina, state of Espírito Santo, right on the border with Minas Gerais. In this producing área, called Caparaó, some farms have their coffee crops in the in both states.

Joint efforts, practice and knowledge led the Abreu de Lacerda family to explore experimental coffee processing, and most important, mastering them.

That’s why José Alexandre’s natural catuaí 44 with 120-hour anaerobic fermentation is so good! A complex coffee, that tastes like (many) fruits and has a brilliant acidity. You have to prove it!
